A space for healing, reflection, awareness, and community. With a heart full of love and purpose, I welcome you to the launch of the Bailey’s Heart and Soul Foundation Blog—a place where grief meets grace, and tragedy gives rise to transformation. This space was created to give voice to the unspeakable. To make room for the tears we hide, the questions we wrestle with, and the hope we cling to. Most importantly, it’s a place where Bailey’s legacy lives on—not just in memory, but in action. 💔 Today’s Entry: Grief
Today is not just any day. Today marks the anniversary of the day I lost my son—my sunshine—Bailey. It’s impossible to describe the depth of this pain, but I try, again and again, to give it language. And some days, music says it best. Today, it’s Angie Stone’s “No More Rain (In This Cloud).” The line that cuts straight to the soul: “My sunshine has left me.” While the song was originally written about romantic loss, for me, it perfectly captures the hollow space Bailey left behind. He was my joy, my light, and my heartbeat. And on this day, especially, the absence is deafening. Just yesterday was Mother’s Day. A time that should be filled with laughter, celebration, and warm embraces. And yet, here I am today—holding both love and loss, strength and sorrow. Grief doesn’t follow a calendar. It shows up in waves—in songs, smells, memories, and silence. Some days you can breathe through it. Other days, you just sit with it. And today… we sit with it. ✨ Why This Blog Matters This isn’t just a journal or a personal diary. This blog is a movement, an educational platform, and a healing space. We created this blog for YOU:
Here, we will: 💬 Share stories of grief, resilience, and remembrance 🧠 Provide mental health insights and coping tools ❤️ Educate the community about Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) ⚠️ Highlight warning signs that are too often overlooked 💕Advocate for early heart screenings, CPR training, and AED access in schools and youth sports ❤️ Understanding Sudden Cardiac Arrest Bailey looked like every other healthy, vibrant teen. But what we didn’t know is that Sudden Cardiac Arrest was silently threatening his life. SCA is not the same as a heart attack. It can strike suddenly and without warning—especially in youth who may never have had a prior diagnosis. Signs and symptoms can include:
If we can help even one family recognize the signs… If we can help one school install an AED… If one student learns CPR and saves a life… Then Bailey’s light continues to shine. 🎶 Listen With Me: No More Rain Music holds memories. Today, I invite you to listen to the song that holds mine: Angie Stone – No More Rain (In This Cloud) Let it remind you to hold your loved ones close. Let it honor every “sunshine” we've lost. 🕊️ What’s to Come In future posts, we’ll dive deeper into:
💬 Final Words from Bailey’s Mom Launching this blog on Bailey’s anniversary is no coincidence. It’s a promise—that his life, his heart, and his soul continue to guide this mission. This blog is for every parent who never thought they'd be in this position. It’s for every life we still have time to protect. Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading. And thank you for believing that even in grief—there can be purpose. With love, light, and fierce devotion, —Bailey’s Mom 💛
